Climbing Mt. Kinabalu by Levi

In Borneo we wanted to climb Mt. Kinabalu.  It is 13,432 feet tall and to get all the way to the top it's nearly 9 kilometers.  Here is a picture of the summit from Mac's t-shirt.

These are pictures of Mt. Kinabalu taken from our airplane.

The bad part is it's nothing but uphill most of the way with just a couple of feet of flat ground.  But, we were proud of ourselves and each other!

On the first day, when we got to the lunch place we were happy because we only had a few kilometers to go to the lodge.  When we got to the lodge, we were so happy, but we had to walk up a bunch of stairs to get where we were staying for the night.

We stayed here at the Pendant Hut

We had to wake up at 1:55 in the morning and barely got any sleep.  I was so tired when the guide banged on our door saying wake up! Wake up!  The reason we had to get up so early was because we wanted to see the sunrise on the summit.  When we got to the top it was about 6:30 in the morning.  All we did was take a couple of pictures, hike back to the lodge, pack up and went all the way down the mountain.  We did not get to the bottom until 4:30pm.

Check out the Mt. Kinabalu's shadow!

We made it!
