St. Briavels Castle Youth Hostel

Well, as you can see from the kids' posts Glastonbury was fantastic....although I admit that after three days of pretty nasty port-a-potties and no showers we were all happy to get to St. Briavels Hostel.

St.  Briavels is close to the Welsh border.  We left Glastonbury by bus to Castle Cary train station, where we caught the train to Bristol, then rented a car.....Lane driving....stick shift.(which he hasn't done in years)...on the left side of the road.....a bit stressful for all involved.....I'll leave it at that.

Bye  Glastonbury!  (can't figure out how to rotate this picture)

Our room was the old banquet hall.

The castle chapel makes a great place to do school work!

St. Briavels is over 800 years old....it was converted to a hostel in 1948......Amazing.
